Private Sashimi Class - how to use deba and yanagiba

This is a private class designed for those of you like 1 on 1 tuition. Book online and we will find a time suitable for your schedule. Class takes approx 2 1/4 hours.

If you have ever wondered how they put those tiny ships in the bottles then this is the class for you.

There is a great mystery about how a whole fish becomes delicate and juicy morsels of sashimi.
In this hands on class we will demystify the process of selecting the best fish and its preparation into Sanmai Oroshi (three fillets) and beyond.

We will cover proper use of deba and yanagiba, filleting, use of different parts of the fish, preparation of saku blocks and final slicing and presentation of sashimi. You will also prepare parts of the fillet not appropriate for sashimi into other dishes.

By the end of the class you will be confident to choose quality fish, fillet and then prepare sashimi at home.

At the end of the class you get to taste your creation and of course thee will be plenty of fish to take home.
