Mcusta Knives
Since the 1960's Mcusta has been making outdoor knives in Seki City, Japan. They use a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern day technology to create blades that are both beautiful in use and aesthetic.
The process starts with the design team using 1000's of hours of research to design each new product using 3D CAD to ensure the ultimate in ergonomics. From there individual components are CNC machined and then hand assembled and sharpened by master craftsmen.
Mcusta White Series
The Mcusta White series is made from a single piece of VG 10 Super-steel, regarded by some as the the perfect material for kitchen knives. The handles have been designed to increase grip and reduce fatigue no matter how you hold the knife. The handle is made from Ivory Corian and is secured by a seven point system of tiny screws. Under normal conditions the handles will never warp or come away from the blade.
Special tempering technique
Much is said about HRC (hardness) but hard blades can still be brittle. Mcusta use a special vacuous kiln for tempering that gives the superior strength as well as high hardness. That feeling of rigidity of conveyed from the first moment you pick up a Mcusta.
The Edge
Mcusta have developed a special edge grind to give superior more accurate cutting. Although not single sided the blade does have a slight bias to one side and is finished with a 1mm bevel to give you straight accurate cuts. From our experience this knife is a pleasure to use.
