20cm Malutto - Naked Finish

The tallest cast iron pan in the Oigen range.

The Malutto pan's shape is a culmination of 300-year-old iron kettle making techniques and knowledge passed down through the generations at OIGEN. The iron lid is easy to pick up and helps seal the goodness in. Malutto is crafted to the highest standards to satisfy the most demanding cooks.

With the lid on circulating steam prevents food from drying out during the long cooking process, much like a steam convection oven. You’ll be surprised at how well this pan does the cooking for you.

Outer Dimensions: 38cm including handle, 21cm top diameter, 6.4cm height excluding lid

Naked Finish - coated with .... nothing

Oigen has developed a patented technique of finishing their premium range of cast iron cookware. After manufacture the cast iron is heated to an extreme temperature causing the surface of the iron to change composition. This 'Naked Finish' is pure and natural and not only helps resist rust but enhances the non-stick properties of the pan after correct seasoning.

Regular non-stick teflon pans are coated using chemicals like polytetraflouroethylene. They work well for a time but the non-stick surface ends up scratched and useless. Naked Finish cookware is coated with - well nothing, they are completely naked. Simply season your pan and you're good to go.

In this product the premium Naked Finish is only available in overseas markets. The more traditional cashew finish is sold domestically. It takes many extra steps to create the naked finish but in terms of performance and overall quality it is well worth it.
