210mm Chef Knife

We highly recommend buying a 210mm chef knife as your main knife in the kitchen. It is long enough to handle most tasks and short enough for most people to easily control. A clever person could also use it to fillet a fish.

Zanmai Hachi Series

This range from MCUSTA is pretty awesome for the price. The blade is made from totally respectable AUS8 stainless steel enhanced with molybdenum and vanadium.

The transition from blade to handle is totally seamless. The sculptured ergonomic handles are made from black pakkawood, perfectly milled and attached to a full tang with strong rivits. The Zanmai signature heel plate gives this budget series a luxurious feel.

MCUSTA Zanmai Knives

The MCUSTA company motto is "Always Pioneers". Unlike other knife manufacturers in Japan MCUSTA employ methods such as laser cutting and CNC milling to create knives that are consistently superior. MCUSTA use a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern day technology to create blades that are both beautiful in use and aesthetic.

Knife care for stainless steel knives

  • Never put in the dishwasher.
  • Dry thoroughly after handwashing and do not store unless fully dry.
  • Do not cut through bones, frozen foods or extremely dense items.
  • Always cut with a smooth action and never twist the blade, sideways pressure will damage the blade.
