Aero Nagura

An excellent nagura for any sharpener from beginner to advanced. While most other nagura are used to add slurry to the host, the Aero works by creating slurry from the stone that is being used on. This means it is suitable for a wide variety of grits from arato all the way to shiageto. 

This nagura is also useful for deglazing stones that easily get knife residue stuck to the surface.

About Nagura Stones

The nagura is highly recommended to get a little extra from your sharpening effort. Many finishing stones both synthetic and natural are hard by nature and it's difficult to build up a slurry from the get go.

The benefits of using natural nagura stones in combination with shiageto are as follows:

• Creates a lubricant making the sharpening process smoother, with less skipping and slipping.
• Eliminates glazing from steel becoming embedded into the stone surface.
• Reduces suction on the stone surface when sharpening kataba (single edged blades).
  
• Not suitable as a flattening stone as it is too small.
