Profile

Makoto Santoku 165mm

An excellent blade for super precision cutting. Avoid tough/strong tasks with this one.

Makoto Damascus Series

Makoto Kurosaki is the older brother of Yu Kurosaki. He is a sharpener by trade and after trading in his previous career making traditional Japanese harvesting sickles, makes knives under is own 'Makoto' brand. His sickles were legendary and his knives have a fast following.

Makoto-san has worked his way through the VG series of steel and has settled on rare VG7 as his steel of choice. Subtle layers of damascus are graduated down to a cutting edge in a hamaguri (clamshell) style to create a fine cutting edge. These blades are thinner than most so a little care is needed when using.

If you are a lover of sharp knives and all of the responsibility that comes with ownership, these knives will definitely put a smile on your face.

The handles are a simple, understated ebony with no bolster.

  • Rare VG7 steel
  • Double hamaguri grind for left/right handers
  • Japanese style "wa" handles in ebony wood for secure grip
  • Strictly limited production
