Oigen is renowned for their Nambu Tekki ironware produced in Mizusawa city, where the traditional art of iron casting began 900 years ago. Their range of traditional ironware is said to last over 100 years if properly cared for. Each item of ironware from Oigen is made of up to 75% recycled material. Since the old days broken or worn pieces have been melted down to make into new wares.
