The Kaiden 13000 is a hybrid of crushed natural stone and ceramic. This is a softer style stone that can create a crazy mirror finish on both kataba and ryoba style blades and excels at final polish on carbon steel yanagiba.

This stone can be easily scratched, chipped or gouged by those with limited sharpening experience but is rewarding for those who have a little skill and patience. Go slowly and use shorter polishing strokes for the best results.

Kaiden Sharpening Stones

These stones are for the true professional and although good for ryoba style edges they excel for kataba style blades.

We strongly recommend this stone for those with intermediate to advanced sharpening skills only.

• Instructions: Soak the 13000 stone for about 5 minutes before use or until the bubbles stop rising. Finding the right balance of water is the key to using this stone.

N.B. Please do not soak this stone for long periods as it will degrade the stone. We recommend using this stone in conjunction with a sturdy rubber base.
