Synthetic Nagura Stone from Naniwa

This handy little stone is used for a number of reasons. Before using harder compound stones rub the nagura over the surface of the host stone, it will speed up the sharpening process by activating the grit and binder in the host stone. Also some stones tend to glaze over very easily. In this case just rub the nagura over the surface to remove the embedded steel particles and to reveal a clean fresh layer of sharpening grit.

Pre soak the nagura for about 10 minutes before use.

We recommend this synthetic nagura for 400 and 1200 grit stones.
